Debut for young star
Seventeen-year-old striker Keith Houchen was handed his Football League debut in a match against Crewe. Houchen didn't score that afternoon but he did break his duck against Barnsley soon afterwards and had 65 league goals to his name when he was transferred, still only 21, to Orient in 1982. He returned to play for and manage Pools late in his career.
