Profile

Yorkshireman Andy Monkhouse began his career at Rotherham United and scored against Hartlepool on his league debut for the Millers. In 2006, after eight years at Millmoor, he signed for Swindon Town who had just been relegated to League Two alongside Pools. Danny Wilson brought the wide midfielder to Victoria Park on loan in November 2006.

Monkhouse proved to something of a lucky charm during his loan spell at the Vic. He played in eight games and Pools won all of them without conceding a goal! Monkhouse himself weighed in with three goals including winners at Notts County and Mansfield. He certainly did enough to impress the management at Pools, as Wilson signed Monkhouse on a permanent basis when the transfer window opened in January 2007.
